Hi guys and girls,

First off sorry for a what bike thread. Now my beloved 748 has gone I have a hankering for something cheaper and revvy....

I havew found 3 such creatures and I was wondering if anyone had opinions on:

1) 1999 R6 (One owner minty clean comes with Helmet) $4000

2) 2002 GSXR 600 (Its a swanky Ltd Edition Telefonica, oooooooooo) Needs an oil change $5000

3) 2004 Kawasaki ZX6RR New tires, comes with helmet $5500

All have similar miles - 10k ish.

I know the prices here will be different to there but it shows you they are all pretty close and none of them are depreciating much further, which is nice.

The zx6rr is currently my fave, but mainly because I like saying 'Ninja'...

Anyone got any experience of these reasons why i shouldnt buy any of them?

I always trust the PH massive.

Yours,

Adam

If you can, ride all three and make up your own mind. I would go for the ninja myself, best looking of the three and a bit more grunt from the extra 36cc's.

Thanks r1_jon! I was trying to figure out if any of them had specific problems or things to look for.

The zx6rr has 599cc but all the tricky track type suspension... alledgedly....

I looked at those 996_sps, but the 929s and 954s around that money are 20k plus miles and usually been thrown down.

Mate there is a minter 1 owner on bike trader for 2995, it has 25k on the clock but original condition........

If you do buy 1 of the 3 listed would not get a race rep paint job as they look dated so quickly, never get rid of it......

The ZX-6RR is a track tool, so i'd expect a fair number of those 10k miles to have been on circuit, so ridden seriously hard. The GSX-R six is said to be a good sports 600 for the road, but i'm a big fan of R6s. As it's also the cheapest, seems rude not to You do really need to ride them all and see which suits your riding style. Wouldn't touch a second hand helmet...

This is true. Would have to look carefully for crash damage. If you spend much time on track, or plan to, probably the way to go as it's already pretty sorted. May be a bit compromised for road use but my reference us UK roads so you may be OK!
