Finally got some detail on the new Ducati Monster.

Ordered one with St. Neots Duc centre 5 minutes later.

Looks rather pretty to say the least!

Its also a twin and not a 4.

And I assume it will be about £1 million cheaper.

Can't wait to get back on a "real" bike. The Vespa 250 gts I've been using round town for the last year is great fun even out on the twisties, but its miles apart from a proper upright twin.

Very nice. I take it you're going for the 1100 Mr. N? From what i've read, it's a great engine.

as much as I loved my 748 and the new 1098 is utterly beautiful, MV Agusta's just do it for me...

I do like it lots.

I can see myself moving from the zx10 to something like that when i finally realise the 10 is too much for the road.

It needs carbon cans on it and maybe a small fly screen

My thoughts exactally.

We all know how dull a totally basic monster can look and how stunning a fully kitted up one can!

This is the pre, pre concept model. The concept will hopefully get launched in Milan in a few months and the full production bike may be ready for the NEC show later in the year.

Dealer quoted my a delivery date of next year!

I will be going for the 695 I'm afraid, cause it'll keep my Mum happier.

What worrys me is what it would be like on long runs, and the engine is so exposed so would get chipped to bits, presume the handling would still be good........I would love one but sportsbike for the mo!

total newb to bikes but I'm tempted to buy a monster so hopefully this isn;t too much of a dumb question...

not something I'd thought of when looking to buy one but aside from the aesthetics is there anything else to be worried about by the chipping?
