Honda FMX and advanced riding - 2 threads for one
Discussion
Guys
What does the Forum think about the FMX. I see very little in print, few comparison tests, yet I am thinking I might like one.
I'll declare my position. I've been riding for 2 years on a 12hp Yam Xt125 trailie, ( I've even got to retake my CBT again this Saturday to get the paperwork in place ), took my DAS earlier this month but had to cancel my test because I dropped the school bike doing the dreaded U-turn and had a leg injury. Since then I've practiced to death and i'm looking forward to the big day. I've got a new test date when I return from a fortnight after a certain British motor-race in Northern France so will be rested, tested and hopefully will soon have my ticket to look at a bigger bike.
The question is... is it a good bike or should I wait for a the NEC show when I suspect that the 2 year old model will be replaced with something which competes more readily with the big Yam 660XT. In terms of quality build the Honda reputation is obvious.
You will now see why I don't want a sports bike in terms of comfort, and my primary use will be the commute and weekend trip to the offie!
By the way, I enjoyed the thread about the advanced training. I've had sports cars for 40 years and gone bikey after my CBR son showed me the light. I've a completely new perspective on driving, I'm so much more aware of bikers, safety, speed limits etc. I cannot say how valuable the experience has been.
Shiny side up please.
Regards
Bryan C.
