well one. my Bridgestone 014's have about 2000 miles on the rear and they seem close to the limit. i say that with no experance of it in the past the center are about on the wear bar but the rest of the tyre as some life left in it.

I ask as my MOT is on the 15th June. will they fail me if I take it along like this or should I get it replaced before. I don't want to if its still got some life left in it

cheers

The last time my blade went for an mot you could *just* make out that the rear tyre wasn't worn down the the center wear marker but you did have to look pretty hard. They passed it and gave me an advisory. If you're actually down to the wear mark they'll fail it I would have thought.

In my experience ...once the centre has the wear you described..the handling get`s a little `notchy` anyway as the bike turns & finds the `edge` as it rolls onto the shoulder...why risk a retest...?

Its pass( you have to have 75% visible tread of 1mm) but as others have said, its well past its best.
