Ok looking at the end of the year. Posted before about the fact I like a Speed triple and SuperDke and posts where varied on these.

My next thought is insurance. I thought I would try and get a few quotes from bennett's E-bike etc to see how much these may cost me to insure. This would be my only set back. I don't mind paying 6-9K for a bike. bloody cheaper then a car. but won't pay 1K for insurace a year.

now both quotes have been on a Bristol postcode ( i'm fecked I know) 1years NCB, 1 years licence, garaged, alarmed, datatool fortress etc.... 3000miles a year, only me on the bike. No tickets, all clean licence etc...

HOW much

KTM £950
triple £850
GXR-0750 anothe I like £ 1100 (FFS)

I'm 30, married, own a house, never any probs driving sicne I was 17 and this is daft

So I ask you where do you recommened getting a quote from for insurance.

MC Edwards have been good to me for insurance in a dodgy Leeds postcode. They seem very keen to get and keep business just now. Last year they got me (30yo) down to 490quid for the SprintST with 1yrNCB and 1 yr with a licence. This year with an extra year of both it's down to 260 I think. That's obviously FC with Full EU cover, etc...

Incidentally, talking of changing bikes, I've just bought this little beauty so I'll let you know what difference the insurance is once I find out.

I use ebike insurance - all about 900 quid for a new honda CBR600F, but I've only been riding a few months!!

Yamaha seems to be the cheapest bike to insure. Got a quote for 500 on the R6!

IMO..you usually need more than 2 quotes...I shoot for around 8 quotes...they usually vary from anything from 1500 quid to 700 quid...the difference can be that large...Work your way through the insurers advertised in MCN...the big companies premiums reflect the advertising costs.

I use www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk as it checks quite a few brokers online. This works really well when you are thinking of changing bikes as there can be huge variations in pricing between different brokers and insurers, even for bikes with the same insurance group.

For instance, when I got my FZS600 Devitts came up trumps with £440 for a bike kept in a shed, in Glasgow for a 35 yr. old with no bike experience, 10yrs car NCB and an SP60. Eight(-ish) months later, to change over to an FZ1-S they wanted £1,400! A-Quote asked for £426, which I think is surprisingly low tbh.

Just spoke to my insurance and they only wanted £30 to change bikes which is basically the fee they charge to issue all the paperwork again. I can't argue with that really.
Pick the bike up on Wednesday so quite excited about it...

£1,100 for the GSX-R750? I was quoted £1,438 from Bennetts but Suzuki Insurance (through Express) managed to do it for £699.

Anyone have a two bike policy? If so, who are you with?

Had one last year with Carol Nash. The "extra" cost for the second bike was something like £10 per £1000 of the bikes value assuming the second bike was a lower group than the first bike.
