'FI' not 'F1' and means you have an injection problem smile

Yeah, it's a possibility that the mapping could indicate a non-existent fault but I'd take it to my local Suzuki dealer just incase.

Before you go to the suzuki dealer, just unplug the power commander and see if it still happens. Word of caution, my mate took his blade in for a problem to be sorted out and Honda wouldn't touch it as it had a power commander (twats !)They mad him go down there and physically unplug it himself which took all of a minute before they would go near the bike. I'm not saying suzuki will do this but better to do it instead of having to drive all the way back because some smart arse is bieng a nob !
My other mate had a 600gsxr which also had that happen when we rode to Munich and it was just as Rawwr has described.

I had a K1 GSXR600 and it did this a couple of times. Gave me a panic as the oil light stayed on too. Then I stopped off to check the level, switched the bike back on and the light went out.

It can be down to just a lose or bad connection. You basically need to ground one of the pins in the loom to get the FI code to change to one of these but IIRC you need to have the spare key on you as the codes reset after switch off!!!!!

Unless it comes on frequently, I wouldn't worry too much

under the seat there is a plug where you can use a paper clip t short it , and the fault code will show up in the FI box.

Its not neccessarily a fuel injection fault , FI isnt what it means

My money is on the TPS being out of adjustment - quite a common FI inducing problem on GSXR's. Coul be wrong of course but it is an easy fix

Mine only ever came on in cold damp weather so I put it down to a dodgy connection somewhere. It didn't come on often so I never did anything about it.

That will just be one cause for the light. Until you know the code, you won't know the fault.
