My Brother has asked me to do some basic maintenance on his Raw Striker 7 alike kit car. This has a 1996 ZX9 r engine fitted. I want to check the oil level and also to change the oil after a track day in a couple of weeks time.

Can any of you shed any light on the location of a) the oil filler and b) the oil level glass? c) how much oil one of these engines should be filled with?

Thanks

The Oil filler will be on the right hand side engine casing (looking from the back) Oil level glass should be further down the same casing. Oil capacity should be just under three litres with filter change. (filter should be changed as well)

Thanks BN

I have located the filler cap, getting a good view of the sight glass will be more tricky as this 'side' of the engine actually faces forward and is obscured by the nosecone.

Ah well looks like a more thorough strip down is required.

Thanks

Mirror? Assuming it's not dry sumped it should probably be overfilled slightly to allow for oil surge.
