Working on Disaster Recovery at the office at the mo, but will hopefully be back in time.
What the hell's going on with Di Puniet? Sounds like he's sufferuing from a painful stack last week, and then sets a prov pole .7 secs ahead of the field. Obviously "GOD" himself came along and snook onto pole, but christ that was a fast lap from the Kwak.

Still wouldn't have money on him getting podium though. Stoner still didn't look happy this morning....bless!

The green meanie is looking good ..especially in qualifying....& De puniet is a tryer...I hope it can sunstain the pace all through the race...
I think Rossi knows what he needs to do though...would anybody bet against him after his recent victory & Stoners recent micro slump in confidence..

Na, I think if Rossi keeps outta trouble on the first corner, and manages to keep it upright (pretty reliable there!) then it's all his.

Could see a new leader this afternoon!!

Holy shit! That was one of the most intense races I've ever watched! Excellent result for Stoner (again) and so happy he managed to keep it all together.

Was on the edge of my seat, good race, Stoner wasn't about to give it away and fought to the end. But, [sorry] In an after race interview he said, 'we can now cut the crap about fastest bike'. Well, I counted three times that the Duke walked past the Yam' on the straight.

That may be true but the duelling wasn't on the straights and the relative performance between the GP7 and the M1 isn't as great, in fact I think the absolute differences between the GP7, M1 and RC212V are a lot closer now than at the start of the season. Besides, if the GP7 really was the ubeatable dynamite bike the [Rossi] fans make it out to be, where are Barros, Hoffman and Capirossi? Why are their times (with the exception of Mugello) off Stoner's?

Stoner is quick. Really quick. He always has been quick, even on the RC211V last year he was right up with the big boys on lap times, it's just he had a bit of a party piece similar to our Chilli's. If I was Stoner, I'd probably get bored of hearing about it too by now, and I'd like to think that today showed that he's capable of coming out on top whilst under enormous pressure from two immensely capable riders chomping at his heels.

But whether you're a Stoner fan, a Rossi fan or (maybe) a Pedrosa fan (?), I think one thing is very clear: The last 10 laps of today's race were ing exceptional sport and very entertaining viewing.

I thought the same. The Duke was way faster in the straights, although agreed, not as much as the beginning of the season, but hats off to him, Rossi couldn't make any of his passes stick. I was gutted about the result, but you're gott ahand it to Stoner....fantastic race.
And Rossi, what a sportsman. Smiling and waving, and gave a good upbeat interview. I rekon I'd have sulked off to me motorhome!!!

The GP7 was not massively faster in the straights, Pedrosa's RC212V was just as quick if you watch it again.

The Duke was a fair bit faster than Rossi's bike. Even Jules was saying he had to be so far in front to beat him to the finish line.
The Duke's been faster in a straight line since day 1 this season. I agree the gap appears to beclosing, but it's still there.

A stonking race! I had two non-biking friends watching in the pub with the rest of the bikers and even they were on the edges of their seats (once we'd told them who they should be rooting for!!).
I had to laugh at the post-race interview when Pedrosa, with his usual dead-pan face said (something like), "I am really happy" - could have fooled me, matey!! laugh

If you watch the races on the BBC, a fun game to play is to count how many times Charlie, Suzy and Steve prefix Dani with an adjective for small.

Little Dani Pedrosa.
Tiny Dani Pedrosa.
Diminutive Dani Pedrosa.
Childlike Dani Pedrosa.

etc etc

You can also count how many times Rossi says "For sure" and how many times Stoner says "You know".

Ooooh, don't start me off, in those heels too, ooh,'err.
Anyway, Duke is fastest, no doubt. Granted, Stoner has shown the way and outpaced Capirossi which is impressive enough and is fighting his corner. My point is, how would he fare on a YAM? The other Dukes are outpacing the other Yams. Rossi is riding the wheels off the MC1 and can still come through the field like no-other. Cant help but think that IF Rossi was on a duke, we'd have a return to the 'doohan days' and he'd be off big time. But then again, that was soooo boring.
PS. Not a fan of Pedrosa, or Honda.

PPS. Nothing was as quick as the Duke, Honda and Yam seemed evenly matched.

Agreed, Stoner didn't put a foot wrong, so you can't knock him really. I just don't like him very much, and think that Rossi is just a GOD! Elias is a great rider to watch, just doesn't give a sh!t and has the thing sliding all over the place!

Ah, come on....he's great fun!!!

Quotes from Jules and Toby....."Are you allowed to throw your bike at someone" and "I've never seen anyone go into a corner backwards" Not that MotoGP needs livening up, but he certainly does that!!!
