Are they difficult to get hold of in the UK? If you've got one, where did you find it? and what sort of price do you think we'd have to pay in the UK for a 1998-2003 model Roadmaster?

Any commments appreciated.

ETA: like this....

not this...

Err...........yes!

I was on a visit to the USA just after they stopped making them, and visited one of the last 'reborn' Indian dealers still in business in San Jose.

They are about in the USA for sale but IIRC I don't think they were offically imported to the UK, but will be happy to be corrected on that.

I would think you'll be looking at personal import from the USA if you want one.

Check out the ads on the USA Cycletrader website....a quick search for 2003 Chief's reveal a US price range of between about $17k-23k....so add anything up about GP£1 for shipping + import taxs + registration SVA etc.

Cheers for the link. I heard that the company had been revived and was going to start production again this summer.

I'll believe it when I see it. The retro-look is a small and getting smaller market in the USA. Harley have just dropped the very vintage style Springer Softail for next year's line-up as sales were dropping right off.

the 'new' indian was never sold over here as the american company making them do not own the rights to use the indian name in the u.k .the pic shown is an earlish example 1999 approx as it uses a generic harley engine the later models used the powerplus 100" engine 2003 ish , until they went bust a few years back
