Just had a new rear tyre fitted to my Fazer. the Bridgestone 014 lasted 2000miles and still being new to biking I thought I would get some feedback from you lot on good tyres.

I had Bt-057 that I took straight off when i bought the fazer last Nov, bloody hard and no sign of wear when they had 4000 miles on them already. I was recommended BT-014's whihc have been great using every day in all weather.

So I am looking for a good trye that I can use during the winter, wet or dry, but that give me as good feedback as my 014's and good grip as just a few more miles before they need to be changed.

is there such as tyre?

Michelin Pilot Road 2's? I used the original 2CT's on my Fazer and they worked really well, I'm planning on fitting the new ones to the thou when it needs them.

A few years back I used to run my YZF750sp on BT56's, I grew tired of replacing rear tyres, so tried the BT57, which lasted roughly three times longer than the 56's.

I ran the BT14 on my R1 for a while and while the grip is ok, the milage from them is not, I'm getting more milage from my Supercorsa's.
I'm not suggesting you should use them on your Fazer, maybe try the Michelin's as plenty of people seem too be raving about them.

John.

The BT021 has had rave reviews in the press and I'd also be interested in feedback.

I've previously used a BT020 rear and found it prone to spinning up a bit under hard acceleration, more so than a BT010 anyway, but the Pirelli Diablos I currently have fitted are not as good as the BT010/BT020 for feel and my rear is square now after the IOM TT (bloody motorway!).

Should I junk the Pirellis even with plenty left on the front or suffer for the life of another rear? The Pirellis are ok, but they're nothing special, IMO.

The new Pilot Road 2 seem to be the dogs danglies and are getting all the reviews.

So much so i will definatly look at getting them for my zx10-R if i start to do a bit more miles.

The conti road attack get good reviews, i am curretnly using the sport Attack which are very good.

On a ZX10-R you want the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT not the Pilot Road 2

I'm using Pirelli Diablos and quite like them, Diablo Corsa front & Diablo rear - I did try a Corsa rear (due to getting a good deal on a pair) which was also good but wore out in less than 2,000 miles yikes

I've been using Pirelli since the first tyre change (bike came with Michelin, which I didn't like) and have had good experiences with Dragon, Dragon Evo and Diablo, maybe it's a case of what you're used to or that certain tyres suit certain bikes/riding styles better then others?

That said I've not tried the BT010/020.

Only if you want to wear out tyres more often.

For the road, road 2s are a great tyre, more that up to the job and better in the wet than the power 2ct.

Are you positive about your statement i.e. have you tried the Pilot Power 2CT's??? I have used the 2CT's for the past 15 months and have done 20,000 miles on three sets of them. In the dry they are excellent and in the wet they are better than Pirelli Diablo & Diablo Corsa's....trust me I do enough miles in the dry & wet to have a good knowledge of the 2CT. I will say that I have not tried the Road 2 but the 2CT's were the tyres recommended for my R1....and I would seriously think about putting 2CT's on a ZX10-R instead of the Road 2.

As for longevity, the 2CT will easily do about 6,000 to 7,000 miles before they are totally shot.

There are a few guys on here that use 2CT's and I believe they share the same thoughts about the 2CT as I do and personally I wouldn't use anything else that's on the market at the moment....

Either you over estimate your skills as a rider or probably underestimate how good sports/touring tyres are.

What exactly will go wrong with using Pilot Road 2's on my 10....

Better wear rates and wet weather grip.
Worse ultimate lean angles and grip, will over heat on track and wear faster.

I'm talking about road use.

The Road 2s will be fine, as would the Power 2CT, the only differnce i will notice is more money in my bank using the Raod 2s..

Irrelevant right now as i am likeing the Conti Sport Attacks anyway, and they are even cheaper. Just need to see about the wear rate.

p.s. great mileage out of a set of tyres on a litre bike that impressive.

Isn't there a fazer owners forum - foc-u.co.uk? Why not ask on there, they'll know whats best for your bike.

Yeah just found it - ask on here http://p196.ezboard.com/bfazerowners

Maybe I am underestimating the sports/touring tyre, but having used various makes of tyres in 70,000 miles of riding in the last four years on various bikes the 2CT's have been my favourite....

nothing but if you tried them back to back your bike will handle better with the 2CT's

better wear rates as the compounds will probably be harder than the 2CT, but wet weather grip better on the Road 2, I doubt it

The 2CT is a more track orientated tyre than the Road 2, so I think the 2CT would be better on track

about £20 probably and yes the Road 2's will be fine

yes it is and as I said I've used three sets of 2CT's for the past 20,000 miles with no problem in all conditions in England & Europe.

At the end of the day I don't mind paying around £210 for a set of 2CT's as I have found these to be the best tyre for my R1 having tried other manufacturers tyres previous to the 2CT's, and my bike has done 32,000 miles in 26 months from new..
