Bandit 650s?

Thinking about getting one of these as a commuter for me and the Mrs to commute 70 mile round trip to work. Also when she passes test can have this as a weekend toy.

Should be fairly comfy as low seat for pillion, ok for her to use as a first bike, and with top box on will be good on space.

Questions are:-

Does anyone know the difference between the K6 and K7 model? Or somewhere to compare the stats?

Does anyone have experience of bike as a commuter?

I've not ridden one but the Instructor I did my DAS with swears by his as his teaching bike. IIRC (from magazine reviews) the K6 feels a bit flat engine wise compared to the previous models and the k7 seems to improve upon this. I'd take any magazine opinions with a pinch of salt mind you. Also have a look at the SV650, similar money, bit lighter and looks nicer to me, of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Both k6 Bandit/SV are on the £1 deposir 3 years 0% finance deal with might help decide between k6 and k7.

Reason for bandit over SV is that I had an SV before and the pillion was never that comfy. I am hoping that the Bandit will be better for pillion comfort. If it was purely a fun choice the SV would win straight away, especially as the Mrs will soon be riding and I think the SV is the best bike you can get as afirst bike.

I will be going for the K7 on 0% finance - however I cannot find anywhere that has a demo K7 bike that I can test on Thursday (only day before end of month me and the Mrs can both test ride), but have found one with a K6 demo bike. Just wanted to know what differences between the two.
