Help please engine identification

Hi all I was just wondering if I might get some joy from you guys. My dad lives in Cyprus and bought a kingd of Golf Buggy powered by a 250cc motorcycle as he needs hand controls due to being paralyzed waist down. Anyway the long and short of it is the engine cooked itself and he was going to buy another from the manufacturer in China that will cost £450 delivered. I thought that in all likehood the chinese company have just copied something like a honda design and he might be able to source something from a scrappers over there that may be cheaper better built less likely to die again.
So the point of my overly long post is that can any of you guys identify this engine or what it has been copied from.

Thanks for that I think the bore/stroke is marginally different but I am fairly sure that somet5hing similar could be put in place. Appreciate the suggestion tho.
