Gettnig out of a tight spot!

So, I parked me bike on the end.....drove straight in, front wheel touching the kerb. Bloke next door (left side) leaves 3mm for me to get in. What's the easiest way to get it out. I was thinking pick it up from the offside, and hope the stand doesn't flick up. Any clever "nacks" I don't know, apart from kick his into the street??!!

I'd say get a mate to give you a hand.. move other bike out the way.. get yours out.. then put his back.

If you roll the bike over towards you and don't move the bike forwards or backwards you should be able to get it out of the space, without the side stand flicking up. When you lower it back on to the stand, make sure you're moving the bike gently backwards, which will keep the stand in forward position.

Just push it out from the front dragging the stand as you go if it’ll go without the stand hitting his. Otherwise, from the front again, straighten the bike up (the stand with go up) and push it back with your hand covering the front brake. Turn the bike when you have enough space and make sure you’re always to the side it’s leaning and always keep the brake covered. Once it’s out, hold the front brake on and go to the offside, making sure the bike is always leaning slightly towards you and you’re sorted. It’s remarkably easy to control a bike like this, but you must cover the front brake and always make sure it’s leaning towards you slightly

Bet there is.... It's how I get mine out the garage parked hard up against the wall. I never manoeuvre mine without sitting on it as I've got a dodgy leg that can occasionally give way

Don't park the bike with the front wheel to the kerb. Reverse it in.

I'm not looking to make an enemy here, but if you think about it, wouldn't it have been so much easier to get it out (accepting the inconsiderate parking of the other guy) if you'd reversed it in?

OK, you've not told us what the camber was like, so perhaps "nose first" was necessary, but in general "nose out" makes getting out again so much easier. Unless there is a good reason not to , reverse it in every time,

No enemies here mate! I've reversed it in every day I've been parking there, and most days I have a feckin mare getting it out. This day, as I was the first there, I thought I'd drive straight in, as this would at least able me to lift the bike up off the stand....something I've often been unable to do due to inconsiderate bikers. But nope, could just about get a fag paper between the bikes!
Got it out in the end with the help of a mate in the office.

2 weeks to go before I move offices and get mre own little spot underneath the Wharf.
