Flip left to right over a crest with a blind approach as the front end is just dropping away from you with no grip

rossi crashed on the way up the hill to the corkscrew....drifted wide and into the drain gully at the side of the track

wore through his gloves and damaged both hands

Go Chaz, 0.5s off "team mate" Barros.

First time at Laguna, first time on a MotoGP bike, first time on Bridgestones, first time with carbon brakes, first time on a qualifier tyre.

I stood up in anticipation when Jules & Toby said he was 0.2s off at the first split, 0.4 at the 2nd and 0.7 off at the 3rd, shame he made a small error in the last sector. But still, 1.8s off Casey Stoner's pole time. Superb.

I think Stoner will take the win, with maybe Vermulen or Hayden second and third, Rossi could maybe be the one to upset the order, though on his past performances at Laguna, maybe not.

Stoner just warmed up with a 1.21.9 sec lap !

The Suzis were 2nd and 3rd with vale 4th quickest , but Stoners lap is streets apart from the rest .

I sat up until 1am watching this last night, kept hoping that Rossi would take pole on the final lap as he's done before but sadly not. Looking forward to the race, and that corkscrew is one scary corner - over a crest then full on right lean, can't be that much grip to be had!

All in all, a good day for bike TV - WSB and WSS earlier (did anyone else see the last lap crash of the pos 2 and 3 riders?!) and now the GP this evening.
