Lorenzo > Fiat Yamaha
Discussion
Yamaha have been rumoured to be running more than 2 factory bikes. Maybe 4 bikes or a split of 2 & 1 as well as giving more support to the Tech3 team in an effort to be more competitive against Ducati and Honda. Thing is Ducati are rumoured to be running 3 factory bikes plus the 2 D'Antin bikes. The factory rides being Stoner, Melandri and the extra bike for Capirossi. Just as Kawasaki aim to have 3 bikes as well (Hopkins, DePuniet and West or RL Hayden maybe)
So there is still a obviously vacant ride at Suzuki but then Kevin Schwantz is looking to run 2 Suzuki bikes as well so. There could be quite a few seats to be filled for next year.
Anyway Toseland's future should be known after the Suzuka 8 hours and the Brands Hatch WSBK round, but I expect him to be wearing blue leathers next year

It's now official. The mildly irritating but ubertalented Jorge Lorenzo will be riding alongside Rossi next year on a factory M1.
Where did you get that from? Edwards still does not know if he has a job finds out in 4 weeks!Edited by Rawwr on Wednesday 25th July 16:36
it says that exact structure and rider set up is not yet determined

Got to be taking Edwards ride, I remember reading about an all American team with Edwards and Hopper but can not be happening now with Hopper at Kwaka........
I just wish they would get rid of traction control and riders aids, just been on you tube watching Rainey and Schwantz in action, so much more rider control. Wonder how the young guns would have coped with a %00cc 2 Stroke beast! I know i'm off the subject slightly but it bugs me a tad....At least Rossi, Checa and the old skool guys can say they have rode those.....

Edwards and Spies on the Tech3 Yamaha's? Or even both on the Schwantz Suzuki's.Either way you have to have Guintoli on a bike next year.

I`m with you..motorcycle racing has been one of the last few sports unmolested by killjoy safety concerns in the engine...i.e TC .
It`s being leaned on by the riders, masking the skill, diluting the input from the riders & giving tyre performance too much sway in the outcome of races...ban it before it becomes a technological battle with the riders just doing the steering & the brakes....
so lap times would drop by 1.5-2 secs...will it make the racing worse?
Not IMO
Would the old magic be back...I think so...

89 & 90 There`s Nowt wrong with no TC ...

Schwantz & Rainey going head to head around Donnington Park is one of THE motorsport memories in my mind, alongside Senna ownage in a wet '92 race.
JT is going great guns, I am genuinely so impressed by the guy, but lets see WSB champ before we even think of MotoGP. Right now I get the impression he'd be a solid midfield runner rather than a front row challenger.
