My 916 had a flatspot when new between about 4000 - 5000 rpm I was told it was 'programmed in' to help it pass noise emissions test (they test the noise level at a certain rpm) Soon got it sorted as the 'chip' for the 'termis' has no such flatspot (might not pass noise test though
) but it must be possible to tune it out without replacing the cans - on 916 you need to alter the chip & fuelling - but on a Blade I would imagine a good tuner with a Dyno could sort it


If the flat spot makes a difference to your acceleration then you must be wanted to accelerate hard so it baffles me why you are sitting at or below 5000rpm anyway. I would only go below 6000rpm in town or when starting or stopping. If I slow down so I go below 6000rpm I change down. It's a bike not a car, use the lower gears.
