Tax disc question

Tried the online tax disc service, and I was most impressed; application was easy, & the disc arrived in 3 days. I've never found a holder that's properly waterproof, and the disc is usually a soggy mess in weeks, so I laminate mine before it goes in the holder: problem solved! Simple question..anybody know if it's legal to do this? Thanks in advance.

Yep, my alter-ego is Snailpace 7 (1-6 were already taken!). P. Chicken was my old CB radio handle, 'borrowed ' from a Dave Lee Travis rip-off of 'Convoy'..(Rubber Duck etc...).
