Ducati Hypermotard, test ride.................

Had a test ride on the a Hypermotard 1100S today.

Riding position was a bit unfamilar, felt like I was sitting on the tank and with the bars so close and wide (just like my old KTM) but what a hoot to ride! lovely torquey power delivery and very eager to hook the front wheel up in 1st or 2cnd, amazing brakes (1098 style radial calipers) with a very fierce initial bite (maybe too much?) and loads of stopping power.

I liked it so much I nearly bought one but a new bike is not on the agenda right now, maybe next year.

Verdict - you know it makes sense........

I've just found out that a female ex-Monster rider I know has just had her 5-day old Duc Hypermotard re-ended by a tt in a Ford Focus. She's fine apart from a few bruises......but is fuming to say the least.

Photos show the bike stood up to it quite well.....not so the Focus

I was rear ended off my BMW K1200GT a couple of months back.

Hope she accepts nothing less than 100% faultless on her part - and glad she's okay.

I love the look of the Hypermotard. Really tempted on one for 2008.

I went into my local Ducati today (riders) and looked at the Hypermotard and think I may take a test ride. sat on it and it was high even for me at 6ft 2" but looks the part. very nice.
