Go and buy "classic motorcycle mechanics". You will get a better idea of what they are worth, they also have a classified section at the rear of the mag, which will be a better bet than selling on the interweb.
John.
OK thanks. Will do. TBH I had initially considered that but assumed (probably incorrectly) that the classic mags would be more for the BSA, Norton, Triumph beardy belstaff Ogri real ale crowd. I had thought of advertising on PH as these are hardly "classics" but may mean something to a man of a certain age (like myself) who tends to hang around these parts.John.
Also I have asked some pretty bizarre car/bike questions on here over the years and have always got sound answers and advice.

There's at least 3 x Classic Bike mags and all of them regularily feature 1970's era Jap machines, not just old Brit stuff. There are also a number of 1970's era Jap classic dealers, which may be worth contacting.
I suspect putting the bikes into one of the specialist classic motorcycle auctions might be the best bet TBH.
Just spoken to my Brother- he's the editor of The Classic Motorcycle. Mentioned these to him, and he thought that it might make an interesting feature for one of the other titles his company does which is Classic Motorcycle Mechanics. Have a look at http://www.classicmechanics.com/contact.htm. The editor is a bloke called Rod Gibson (his email address is on the righthand side of the web page).
Could be a good way of advertising them for free!!

Excellent! Will take some better pics and drop him a mail this week, even if nothing else comes of it he will probably be able to give some guidance as to what they might be worth.Could be a good way of advertising them for free!!
Cheers for that.

[quote=wildone63,it'll make a nice change cos Rod Gibson is obsessed with running articles about the same bikes over and over again - Z1 900's,GT750's,XS650's,CB750's,Yamaha LC's,CBX's & Kawasaki triples etc to name but a few.

But they are THE bikes that set the scene for us all

True, but it does wear a bit thin after a while and there are many other good bikes of that era that hardly ever get featured in the magazine, and if you are a magazine editor who publishes articles about the same things over and over again then it wont do your future circulation prospects much good.
I bought 'Classic Bike' magazine every month for a few years until i got despondent with the continous articles about BSA's,Norton's & Triumphs every month
