Well it looks like my aging Rukka kit will be very pricey to repair (apparently new liners make things pretty much uneconomical) so I'm looking for something new. I had a look at the Halvarssons safety stuff, no doubting the protection or the build quality, but it's too bulky for me - struggled to undo enough of the lower leg to get my boots on! I tried their Graffiti jacket, which seemed very light, well made and a good fit, but does anyone already have any of the Halvarssons/Lindstrand stuff and can comment on how they find it to live with. For anyone using other brands, what do you have, why did you pick it and what's it like for year round use? I could look at more Rukka kit, Dobles have it and were very helpful on the phone, but the price is pretty high and I'm wondering if it's worth all the cash.

Hein Gericke, picked due to cost. Hugely cheaper than rukka and personally their top end kit is just as good for half the cost! Used in anger twice in london still usable afterwards leaving me with only a few aches and pains.Steve.
Use my HG gore tex kit year round.. works perfectly all properly waterproof. Little warm in the summer (when we have one) thats my only complaint. Jacket over 3 years old and trousers 7 (yes 7) years old. First jacket changed after 4 years before becoming leaky at the zip on the front.

That would certainly do the job
.. my stuff was/is half the cost of that and more than up to the job!My current HG Goretex jacket was £200 new which is a bargin given how long it has lasted.
Or if you want to take advantage of the weak dollar then have a look at www.Aerostich.com

Worth trying the Hein Gericke German website - the prices are I am told less than half that in the UK. Might need a friend in Germany though...
There are some absolute bargains on www.heingericke.de but only in certain sizes. (Master Gore jacket in XXL for E199 !)I use a Hein Gericke Daylite Journey jacket in a really offensive yellow:

It has the added bonus of making people think you'd plod.

if your after something not to bulky draggin jeans may be worth a look, contemplating getting some myself at the moment, the drag tests seem to offer some re-assurance should you decide to go for a slide

there also seem to be some liners, wether or not it's too expensive for your old set though

Me too. I get spotted a bit quicker in London traffic. Occasionally drivers wake up and move out of the way too. Mind you, the white lid and BMW probably help http://www.hein-gericke.com/uk/product_info.php/cP...
