But he had traction control when he did that slide. It kept the amount of spinning under control so he didn't get fired off to the moon.

Yep, he won that in 2006 and Honda had traction control on the bikes from 2003.

Think there's a switch on the bars to turn TC off, incase it's not working right... i seem to remember Marco saying he'd switched it off to do the powerslide

Totally awesome. Done a track day there and that is a FAST bend. [bit more like a straight to me he, he] They should ban all traction control before moto GP gets as boring as F1. Melandri will be one to watch next year on a Ducati.
