The front felt a bit heavy compered too my current one, could sort of feel the bars pushing in my hands tipping into slower corners, bottom end felt a little flat too, but I have a PC3 on mine with de-cat and pipes.

£3000, too pay, which I'm more than happy with, as mine has 15.000 miles on the clock, and is riddled with stone chips.

I'm getting a tail tidy for free, and set of the new Akrapovic's for trade.

Can't wait, I'm on a track day next Friday, so I'm gonna behave myself.

That's us both happy bunnies next Saturday.

Sounds good - the dealer is giving me £6K for my GSXR 1000 with 7K miles on it (loss of a couple of £K since April 2006), needs the next service which is a major one plus it's been through the mill a bit.

Really looking forward to collecting the new R1 - and congrats to you as well smile

Snap, cost me the same give or take a couple of £'s. I'm 34, must be a sign of getting on a bit frown

Hope I take to the R1, the GSXR 1000 is a hard act to follow!

Glad you are going for the red white option.

On the suspension the stock suspension is really good so get one of the suspension guys to have a twiddle on the track day to get a better feel.

Sorry I can't make it...

R1? What d'ya wanna go and buy one of them for??!!

Great looking bikes. I had the suspension set up on the R6, and it makes the world of difference when its set up for you personally.

Have fun, and enjoy.

Cheers.

Red and white? What was wrong with black, they look well 'ard in that D

My mate's '05 R1 is black with carbon bits; he took the Akra's off as it was just loud for no good reason. Stuck the standard pipes back on, Akra's on Ebay, brass in pocket, no reason for Plod to feel collar, happy bunny.

Enjoy it anyway... smile

I have no idea how to multi quote.

Of course William, just leave the keys for your car, just in case I need to move it.

Yea getting old does have it's benefits sometimes, I'm 41, but still act like a 16yr old. The GSXR 1000 is a good bike, I've ridden quite a few of them, I'm sure after a few weeks, you'll be fine on it.

Sorry you can't make it too John, i know it would be a helluva hike for you. I'm not taking the new bike on track, I'll be using the Honda, I pick the bike up on Saturday, the track day is on Friday.

No chance of taking my time as Hobo is coming...

Cheers Chilli, I'll do the "static sag" on it sometime in the first couple of weeks, and take it from there.

You actually buying it from Bedlington? I never had a bike from them before.

Nice bike, though but. I am envious that you have the moors to play on with it, too.

Do people still ride out to Ogle up there?

It used to be traditional to coast through it with the engine dead, if I remember rightly.

I've used them for the last twenty six years, well that's not strictly true, I bought a 99 R1 from Westgate Road, when we had a little fall out a few years back.

Had a great run out to day, Rothbury, Otterburn moors, Kielder, Newcastleton and ended up at Hartside, back down to Hexham, then back home via the Dyke Neuk, oh and stopped at Morpeth, down from the swimming baths, for an ice cream. Are you home sick yet?

Ogle, whalton.. Yea, the old folk still complain.

Very, very homesick. I have an image now of a rowing boat on the river at Morpeth, in the summer heat.

I am up in two weeks, though, to give the new car a run. My little brother has a bandit up there, so I might have to take it out for a play, too.

It gets harder to head back South every time.

Not trying to rub it in, but, i could see the rowing boats, from the wall, where I was sitting, weather was nice to day.

Let me know if you fancy a run out when you are back.
