Tyres that LAST

I know im probably dreaming but i'd like to get a pair of tyres that have a decent life. Im used to car tyres that dont die in 4months.
ive got an old RF600 that i use as a tourer so its not ridden hard & doesnt need super sticky tyres but i cant get more than about 6k out of a rear tyre. the last rear was a conti road-attack. i liked it, felt nice & so on but it seemed to wear to quick to me. i do a lot of mainroad stuff with luggage so i wear the centers out (plus i dont corner fast cause i cant).
any suggestions or am i dreaming & already getting good milage?

seconded, bought my fazer with 4k on and they had 57's, must have been on there since the bike was new and from a few miels I also did no them I think they would last 10K. but as they where hard as shit I fitted 014's and they are very good. but don't last that long Hooli said:

for? they grip fine yeah but wear as fast as the sport tyre that was on there before - so much for a touring tyre.bridgestone comments noted, local bike shop said the same. will be pricing them soon.
seems to be luggage that kills them for me. which is odd as my luggage weighs less than the average adult so pillions must kill tyres too.
if i had a car that melted tyres because i had a passenger i wouldnt be impressed so how do they get away with it on bikes? just seems like you dont get the option of a road tyre, its just varieties of track rubber (max grip/sod all life).

Taking a pillion always does for your tyres, just the extra weight directly over the tyre I suppose.
I've done a couple of hundred miles on my Road Attacks now and the 'Conti Attack' is still visible on the centre of the tread. They do seem to chew up reasonably easy though under hard use, which is a worry! Also, I cornered pretty hard on them the other day and not only am I at the edge of the rear tyre, but also the front! Usually there's a couple of mm chicken strip on the front, but I can only assume the profile of the rear tyre is pushing the front a bit?!

was in my local shop this morning getting forkseals & asked. they can do battleaxe 021s for £198 the pair fitted if i take the wheels in.
trouble is i cant really tell from the websites if the 021 is a touring or sport tyre, they all seem the get the same description 'amazing grip, long lasting' etc
