I loved my 750 Monster, and had no grief with it whatsoever in the 3 years I had it.
But I had a background riding vintage British bikes so I was used to the 'extra' maintainance regime reqd for Ducati ownership compared to Jap stuff.

My 900 was totally reliable, great bike, only complaint was some corrosion-caused by not garaging it at the time
as stated above the UKMOC are v. helpful/good bunch of people.
