New bike....please help
Discussion
I am looking to buy a new bike, and it just seems too good to be true! The one thing I am a little worried about though is the fact the registration details aren’t in the sellers name!
Would it be possible if someone could confirm through a HPI that the bike is neither stolen or should be in the scrap yard.
Cheers

I have sold on a vehicle where the V5 was in someone elses name before. I had only had it a little while, and didnt like it as much as I thought I would, so part exe'd it. Did this to a dealer, and would be highly suspicious about buying one from a private sale.
If its still something you want to buy, use traceable funds, i.e. bank transfer, visit the bike at the sellers home address, and try and contact the previous owner, as well as doing the HPI check online, through the proper website, and paying the tiny bit extra to get the fraud etc guarantee.

its only about £5 for a HPI check from RAC. Small price to pay if you are concerned on the origin of the bike.
If it is to good to be true it proberly is!!
Are you buying the bike from a trader? if not ask owner type questions, how long have owned the bike, what tyre life, tank range etc.
