Just come back from a trip up to DK Motorcycles in Stoke with my lady on the ZRX and me on the Harley. Nice run out on the A51 and A34.
When there we fell upon the new Kawasaki Z1000ABS. Funky looking bike. Had a sit on it and it felt light as a feather but alas we did not have our licences with us to test ride. (Costs £10 for the privilage but what the hell, it's their gass I suppose!)
So with not having a test ride on it today I just wondered if any one out there has had a test ride or got one and could give us your opinion before we head back up (with licences banghead) and do one....

As I say the bike felt so light compaired to the ZRX1100, clutch felt hard, rest of the controls seemed nice and light and even though the bike is short wheel base it fitted quite nice with legs tucked in even though I am 6'1".

Any thoughts or prior knowledge would be kewl. beer

Mark.

I haven't ridden one yet, but I am considering the 2008 model in white

The only option for me is the price, Kawasaki direct do sell the new bikes cheaper, but does anyone know the pros and cons from buying direct? I will try before I buy, but if I can get the same bike cheaper, then I will.

Are there any issues with buying a model with ABS?

Look forward to comments.

Regards,
Nick.

ABS seems like a good idea to me. In ideal conditions, riding gods may be able to threshold brake as well as ABS or better. Personally, I'd choose ABS over my skill, even though I've experience on dirt and track. On a dark winter commute home in the wet, or even dealing with occasional dust and oil in summer, I'd like ABS.

IMO, it's a shame ABS isn't available as an option on more bikes, as many of us would choose it.

Cheers
