VTR Sp1 - how much are they worth?
Discussion
I always fancied a bigger v-twin and have seen an Sp1 for sale that would be a decent upgrade from my Ducati.
I've got a limited amount of information about the bike, but would welcome any opinions on it's value:
Y plate
Great condition
1000 miles(!)
The mileage worries me - it's barely run in. The tax on the bike is 12 months out of date so I assume it's been sat around for quite a while (possibly years previously given it's age and mileage).
Before I go and speak to the seller, any views? Would it be worth looking at (I assume the seals won't appreciate being unused etc), what service history should it have (I presume yearly), and what would be a reasonable offer for it?
Thanks all!

firstly, your on to a winner, the sp-1 (and 2) are fantastic bikes that really do deserve being flung around and kept on the boil,
if its been stood around for a year then i would advise an immediate oil/filter change and unless its been with a dehmidifier its probably going to need a new chain, being a honda u shouldnt have too much trouble with reliability but if your a wheelie monster they are known to starve the rear cylinder......
it may also need new tyres but all in all just do the basics, hpi check, cold start and idle check etc etc
brilliant bikes with a confidence inspiring front end............
and id offer the owner around 3500 for it........

Fantastic bikes, had an SP-1.I can put my hand on my heart and say that the chassis/suspension on that bike saved my life a few times, including one instance going along a country road and suddenly coming across an unmarked 6 inch deep roadwork ditch at an angle at about 50mph,imagine hitting a kerb at a 45 degree angle at 50mph while leaned over,i actually started to dive off the bike but the bike somehow just soaked it up,gave a shake and i just ended up looking backwards and saying how in the hell did i get away with that?Incidentally i've had an R1,Busa,ZX12R and i used to find myself lifting the front end more on the SP than any other bike, they really do give you a lot of confidence in general, especially cornering!

Another explanation for the low mileage and lack of tax could be it has been a track bike
That's true. However, looking at it, it does look like it's been a garage queen. The owner seems pretty well healed (large house, 5 expensive cars in the drive etc) and the chicken strips on the tyres are even wider than mine
