It's a known fact that the side stand on the ZRX is a bit dodgy as it leaves the bike far to upright and can roll off it if the bike is on an incline.

Does anyone know of a mod or replacement to sort this out as my lady is having a pain in the hour glass with it!?!

Cheers. Mark.

Leave the bike in gear.

Been there with the Falco, option to look into are:

1) A tilter plate for the existing side stand, so the bike leans over further.
2) A side stand from a different bike, that can be modded to fit the ZRX.
3) Whether the side stand differs on versions from around the world (the US version sidestand is the weapon of choice on the falco, far far better than the rest of the world one)

Anything on the ZRXOC board?

Good luck,

Steve.

The busa has the same problem, , many a bikes have rolled off the stand.

Take the side stand off and remove a "lump" from the stop with an angle grinder

does a zxrx have rear ride hide adjustment?
If it does, and you're not a stumpy lil gnome, jack the back end up.

I changed the rear suspension dog bones for shorter ones, raised the back by 35mm, steers sharper than before and now the sidestand is 20mm too short.

Swap side stands with ya?

I had the same problem with my SV1000, 10 mins with an angle grinder was enough to re-shape the stop and allow the stand to sit further forwards.

Thanks for that all.
The side stand is such a stubby little thing! Just wondered if there was an after market stand but I guess it is down to getting the angle grinder out and churning a bit off the stop point so it lowers the bike down a few inches. Can't believe that they spend so much time designing these bikes and fook up on something like that!

Cheers for the comments.

Mark.

Just be carefull, you really don't have to take much off to alter the angle of the stand.
