Hi guys really need your help which is more suitible for a new rider, will i get bored of the bandit quickly? but it's cheaper and i would imagine easier to sell as they seem to be popular? i prefer the look of the cat but it is more expensive, both are work mates bikes, the girl selling the bandit is also after the cat.

R-reg Thundercat

or

V-reg Suzuki GSF600 Bandit

Cheers

I'd go for the Thundercat..... It looks like a proper sportsbike (and was Yams top 600 before the R6 came along). The riding position is great, not too committed and uncomfortable for a newbie and it'll have more power than you'll ever need.

I had an S-Reg as my first bike a few year back and when i came to sell it (in the local paper) the phone was ringing off the hook - It would seem its a VERY popular machine!

Go for it mate, you won't regret it!

If the Thundercat was/is in decent condition,(be aware the finish on these is sh 1te so they can look very ropey very easy) that would be my choice as well.Vs a Bandit the extra handling, brakes and comfort over distance would be a big bonus.

The Bandit is slow and heavy in comparison and if you've come from or got a fast car it wont hold your interest for long..IMHO!

I bought a new Thundercat back in 1996 Blue/Silver (everyone went for the Yellow then). It was a superb machine, had it 3 years ,sold it with 30K on the clock .As said before look at the finish ,Engines strong if looked after IMO.Best of Luck.

Well fortunately we dont All crash.. Just don't fall into the trap of trying to ride beyond yourself to keep up with a mate etc and take it steady...

Yep be good to see you out on the roads...

Same colour as my old one... you can buy a seat cowl for it too - makes it look even more sporty!

Enjoy!

today is a very special day, i have my bike and i rode as much as i could before the rain came out (just parked it in the garage - the heavens then opened!) hopefully the sun will come out for a freakily hot weekend!

yeah i'm after a seat cowl and new rpm face lens as it's got a small crack but will wait so it spreads out the fun of getting it looking really nice!

Cheers guys
