Changed the oil on my speed machine today.

Drain plug came out and the spring and tea strainer excuse for an oil filter popped out with it. I wasn't sure how the spring and tea strainer went back in so fitted like this:

\ \ \ \ \ \ ]
\ \ \ {___ ]
\ \ \ \ \ \ ]

The spring is the slash marks, the thimble shaped tea strainer is fitted with the open end towards the drain plug (drain plug = ] )and at the drain plug end, sitting inside the spring.

Sorry for the shit diagram - is this the right way round for everything?

Cheers!

Thanks Dern, but I've got no idea about newsgroups, and a quick google of the one you suggested hasn't helped...

You're welcome to post it for a laugh and tell us how much abuse it attracts. I have no shame.
