Well chaps my bikes now parked up for the winter, if your not a fair weather biker and commute all year round then fair play and I take my hat off to you! Please don't give it the old rant about fair weather bikers as its old hat.

I'm debating getting an Enduro bike and using that, don't know prices for a half decent one etc, not got a lot as just split up with the GF, so currently buying a house on my tod! But hey onwards and upwards!

So my question is what are you going to do with yourselves without your bike fix?

And if you are debating an enduro bike what am I looking to pay?

Do you use it on the road.... with nobblies on and all that? I have a supermoto but with road tires and often wondered how good nobbly tires were on the road!

dirt tyres are ok on the road but not full knobblies ! as traily bikes are not that fast and the brakes not so hot it's not really a problem .as with road tyres you get what you pay for in terms of performance ,so don't buy crap tyres .

Full knobblies feel a bit weird, and get ripped to buggery on the road, but they are not really dangerous.

You can get hood dual-purpose ones, though, that are just fine. There is no need to go for the full supermoto conversion, as the big front wheel is actualy pretty nice on the crappy roads.

At the moment I still enjoy riding my ZX6R to work when it's not raining... I'll have to get a pair of decent winter gloves though, the other morning I couldn't feel my fingers after 5 mins...
I think a supermoto would be my other choice... It's going to get slippery, to something light and nimble must be a lot more fun than a heavy sports bike...

i use it for mostly green laning with a little road use 85% road use (tbh the longest road use is when i ride it to swindon once a year for its service thats no drama on the tyres i use) ... knobblies are fine on the road as long as you treat them for what they are!

great fun getting it sideways everywhere on the road with knobblies but as already said they get torn up pretty quick so best to go easy for the sake of the tyres

i use perelli scorpion pros all the time...great road legal dirt tyre, very hard wearing too aslong as you dont tear them up by riding like a tt on the road with them wink although i must admit its good fun having it proper sideways coming out of junctions then wheelieing off down the road biggrin

This winter I be mostly prepping the track beast for 2008.

Me in the garage with the R6 and the beer fridge avoiding dark nights in front of that drivel, East Enders, with the Missus.

Nice.

Looking at a Gauloises replica track fairing at the moment. Rearsets and Braided hosing next.

Has anyone changed brake hoses before? Is it an easy job?

its not too bad of a job, are you going the Goodridge route?, if not Venhills that are based in Dorking make just as good hoses and are a little cheaper too, hows the claim for the Fireblade going?.

I hate the winter, i'm currently looking at an interesting car just because i know the bike will be hardly used over the next 5 months.

How i would love to live in Spain.

I would say the cheapest alternative would be to get a PS3 and enjoy HD games and movies.

Bot sure.. I'll take the bike out on nice cool days but I can't be bothered with the hassle of cleaning off all the road salt just for a couple of hours fun.

Tempted to get hold of a 916 and get it in shape for the summer coming again (always wanted one of them). Or.. get a cheap 600/750 and start getting into track days next year.

This is obviously in between all the other stuff I want to do so I'll probably do nothing hehe

Young family, what you worrying about then? Spend the time in the winter with them storing up brownie points for the summer months.

Hello mate, claim all finished. Two weeks after the accident I had a cheque through the post for what I would have expected for private sale.

Just need to buy a new lid and off we go!
