Got a 1584cc Harley softail Deluxe. It has loads of torque and handles quite well but with very little ground clearance compared to the ZRX Kwak we have.
Such a different riding experience. When I get on it I just chill out and enjoy the wind in my face and the sound/feel of the bike.
Want to get a V & H pipe change and engine re-map on the bike but that is going to cost about £1,100!
Saving our penny's for that step.
I have been on Japs for years and the first time I got on the Harley it was.....wow! Feet need to go forwards, not straight down and it doesn't do bends like it’s on rails! But the pleasure of the ride is second to none. Give me more!

Harleys scare me and lots of other people too. They seem terribly heavy.

laugh

That's got nothing to do with them being heavy, just having a knob for a rider in that particular case.

Actually, the weight is not a problem really, as the weight is really low down, which actually makes them an absolute doddle to ride.

Aah, the old 96cube 07-on HD issue with o2 sensors and active exhaust flap rubbish because of Euro emmisions stuff.....furious

You can't actually do a remap, as you need the SERT fitted, but as I understand that has to be ordered from the USA, as HD have withdrawn all the offically imported Screamin Eagle stuff back in 2006. So, technically, you still have to have a 'sympathetic' HD dealer to cover that on the warrenty. It will be cheaper if you wait for the warrenty to finish as you can go the V&H route but fitted the pipes and a V&H Fuel Pak or one of the new generation Euro spec PCIII's.

I've fitted V&H slip-ons to my 07 Dyna which gives the right sound without having to do any other mods for now.
It's worth going this route for now as a HD on stock mufflers sounds pants......wink

ears So as I thought H.D. owners do get into Piston Heads, one would expect so, since "Harleys" have some of the biggest and best " PISTONS " Heads too possibly. Ride to LIVE and LIVE to ride. Since I started this TOPIC hows about more info on say dealers, spares, accessories, and meetings. Now I have a serious question...Has anyone amongst us, esp: dealers have any info: on the once H.D. UK Director ( early 90s ) Kal Demetreious, I was her driver UK . Kal put a whole new life into H.D in G.B Where is Kal now ? Knibbo. P.S all your replies apreciated.

Interesting. Thanks for that! I wondered what the paddle in the zaust was all about. Opens up when you rev!?!
The dealer is Stratstone in Chapelash, Wolverhampton and they said that they can fit the V&H pipes and get the re-map but it takes about 2 weeks for the re-map info from the states.
I have just had a re-call for the bike. Something about the battery lead shorting to the frame and setting it on fire!?! Anyone else know about this?

So the battery lead can set the bike "on fire " and HARLEYS are heavy, sounds like a roll of insul: tape. and a winch ( 10 ton ) to get that upright, out of control biker out of the farm yard, surely tho it was!nt a Harley....was it , can any boffin tell, probably a Royal Henfield ? Knibbo. and thanks.laugh
