Something else I learnt on Sunday. Bit of pressure on the gear pedal, then shut off for a nano sec, then back on the beans and it changes up! Brilliant!
Bet you all knew that anyway, right??!!

Smiler.

A bike gearbox is designed to work in this way. I read a good article about sequential gearboxes recently (which I can't now find rolleyes) and the tip given was to make your upshifts as quick as possible as this will minimise wear on the dogs.

You can down shift too...
Ease off throttle, blip it, as the RPM peaks at the blip and just starts to fall again, down shift.
Don't do this in low gears smile

I have always been advised not to try this on down shifts as it can cause problems due to not being designed for going down.

It's OK if you're not dropping off too much speed or too many revs, but thing is, there's not much of an advantage of doing it, unlike fast upshifts.

You can still do it to look cool and to show up Chilli biggrin

I only ever use the clutch on upshifts between 1st and 2nd. Always use it to downshift.

Wow, wow, wow....Hang on a mo...didn't think my bike had one of those? The R6 did, and that just stop the back wheel locking up through aggressive down changes, where it just intervened for a bit. Are we talking the same thing here?
