Who gives a fcuk what you look like riding it? If you want an R1 or RSV I would recommend that you get one!

Do go and have some test rides though as the R1 and RSV are different bikes and you may find one suits your riding style better than the other.

I`m about your weight and one inch taller and I also had an SV650. I found that the GSXR thou was very comfortable for me, and so was the Gixxer 750. I`ve tried my mates Ninja 10 and that was really cramped. I also had quite a bit of room on an R1 that I tried but some people find that cramped. The best bet for you is to spend some time trying out the different bikes to see what really fits you. Whats good in the shop wont always be good out on the road.

Hi there,

What are you looking for in a bike? What attracted you to the bikes you mentioned?

Test ride! Test ride! Test ride! Frankly, I'm amazed how many people omit test rides, then end up with a bike they don't like as much as they thought yes

Cheers! smile

rsv gone!

Good choice of bikes...

RSV is better for the larger gentlemen. Saying that, the R1 is pretty comfortable on the road, although I'm somewhat svelter than you smile

One of my mates is short and a big (heavy wink ) guy - he rides a 1098 no problem... At least you're not short!

I'm 6' 5" and fit fine on my Aprilia Factory - the riding position's a bit more stretched out than the Jap litre bikes. I also have a 2007 R1 having tried a GSXR 1000 and definitely slightly more room on the R1.

I would recommend the ZZR1400, goes like the proverbial of a shovel and can also tour, larger than the 1ltr sportsbikes so does offer some more comfort.

From what has been mentioned I would also look at the RSV lick

As someone said earlier a gixxer thou especially the earlier models.

The fireblade 929/954 are very comfortable more so that the current range and lighter to boot. Finally the bmw boxer 1100s, I think the newer 1200s is not as comfortable.

If you dont mind something more upright aprilla tuono or the new fazer thousand.

Speed Triple. Not a sport bike as such, but would be ideal I reckon.
