Hi i have a new SV650 S and am looking for something that sounds a little beefier. Not looking for anything particularly loud, just something which sounds like it has a bit more muscle to it.

Any one got any ideas and where i could get them from. Also i wasnt exactly born with a spanner in hand, how hard/easy are they to fit?

Had a twin port Blue Flame on my SV before it was taken off the road. Made an awesome noise but was a bit on the loud side. The new models though have a road legal removable baffle which should help. Highly reccomend them and will be going for another hopefully once the bike is back on the road.

Fitting is fairly straightforward too. Cut old can off, slide sleeve over old pipe, then new can into sleeve. Job done. thumbup

2nd the Blueflame, had 1 on my Firestorm, they make V-Twins sound great plus as mentioned 2 sets of baffles on the dual port so you can tune the sound wink

They also have a sale on at the moment

How much Louder than the standard can are they? i mean the standard 1 is loud enough, just wanted something a bit deeper, I normally wait a bit for the engine to warm up in the garage before i head off and dont particuarly want to p1ss off the neighbours to the point where they want to shoot me at 8 on a saturday morning

I have a beowulf on my blade. It's road legal with the baffle in and sounds deeper and not massively louder. I use mine for commuting and I start the bike up at about 8am and the neighbours are fine about it. The insurers know about it so it's all above board. Fitting it was trivial, unbolt the old one, bolt on the new one.

When I went to LeMans there were lots of SV's with Leo Vince cans on - really did sound awesome. I do hear Blueflames are good though, no-one has a bad word to say about them.

Personally....... Akrapovic gets my vote (nearly) everytime.
Deep, rumbly but not horribly loud like say, an ART can.

Sadly they didn't make much of a range for my kinda bike, so I bought a Remus on it, and it's almost as good i'd say.
Baffles are removable and it's not chavvily loud even when in illegal mode.
