Can anyone advise on the best way to repair deep scratches on a plastic moped body - Not my moped by the way - my son dropped his in the wet today and has damaged the plastic bodywork. can normal filler be used in the normal way or is there some special magic stuff for such plastic? Any advice would be great.

Hmmm, depends on the plastic. A lot of the time you may as well just bin the part and buy another, as it's doubtful you'll ever make the repair invisible a may be the case with say fibreglass.
Usual car repair filler tends to be polyester (like fibreglass is made with) but car/ bike parts are often moulded from ABS, polypropylene, polyethylene, Lexan etc. etc. which the filler will probably not adhere to. Even if it does, you still have to somehow match the paint...!
Far more street cred is to be had if the scratches are left visible, something to be displayed and boasted about biggrin Although perhaps not if you slid off at 3mph on wet leaves paperbag... but then so many riders of 'big' bikes appear to suffer the same fate at one time or another, eh fellers hehe
