I'm a CBT instructor and a student i had one day was heavily into racing Motorcross bikes.I told him i had just rebuilt a cr500 and he went on to tell me that it's legal to ride bikes on UK beaches,as long as you ride on the part near the waters edge(tide dependant obviously)and not near where most of the public are mostly(the dry stuff further away). Is this true?Anyone any idea?

I dont think it is, as if you are not insured and you flatten someone.... even if your bike is road legal then you must still be on a highway etc, which a beach is not. But if its outa the way enough then yeeha! smile

Someone wittier than me could make a joke out of this.. I couldn't think of one though.. sorry.

You'd be allowed to ride on the beach if it's a BOAT - not sure how to find out if they are.

You'd need an insured, taxed, mot'd, road legal bike.
