Err umm hi !! Thoughts please.
Discussion
Hi to all. 1st time into the realm of leather. Well not really but that was in my younger days.
I am thinking of getting my other half a bike for Xmas as a surprise. He grew up on British bikes, ie Triumph Norton and BSA. He then had a few Japanese, but decided he would kll himself so went to a Harley. Now he wants another bike but somrthing different. I looked on the "Victory" site. I know absolutely zero about them but they do seem to fill the unusual aspect. Has anyone any experience of them?
Please dont sugget a sports bike cos I would soon be a widow, but anything a bit out of the norm as an alternative might be good.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers. Di.

Given your other half grew up on Triumphs it would be worth checking out the Triumph web site.

Not any real experience of Victory, looked at them while at Arlen Ness's in California a few months back, he's a Victory dealer.I am thinking of getting my other half a bike for Xmas as a surprise. I've heard that they are a bit bland if your coming from a Harley.
I'd say they are a bit too similar if he's still got his Harley.
How about something to take him abck to his Brit bike roots...?
A new Triumph Bonneville or maybe a Truimph Scrambler....see here on PH for a recent thread on the Scrambler

What are Buell's like to ride and own!! Quite like the look of that!!!
They are an absolute hoot......they do take a bit of getting used to, but once you have........mega grin time.I know someone that's had Speed Triple's, Ducati Monsters and all sorts of Jap Street fighter type bikes and then tried a Buell.....he reckons it's the best of all of them and is now on his 2nd one. Won't even consider anything else now.

Hi all,
I own a Buell.
I've owned FZRs, turbo charged Kawasakis, RD500s, and the Buell is the biggest grins per mile bike you'll get. OK, a GSXR etc is faster but it only gets intersting at 100mph+. A Buell makes you smile at 0 and it just gets more fun as you ride it.
Yes it is a Harley derived engine and yes, bits do break (I would not recommend one as you sole form of transport). If you want 0-60 devistate anything else - forget it. If you want to ride for the sheer joy of riding and surprise some of the "powerbike" riders, go the Buell way.
Contact "Yoffe" at Dockgate 20 (official Buell dealer) in Southampton http://dg202006.magicgroup.us/ and say "Dave from Scotland" sent you.
