After too many years on 4 wheels I am finally taking the plunge and getting my bike license (hopefully) in a few weeks eek

A pal suggested getting linked up with some local clubs etc to get the benefit of years of experience and knowledge and go for a couple of rides with to help build a bit of confidence

Anyone recommend a first call/ conversation to help a newbie along. smile

I am in Rotherhamwavey

Cheers

it might be worth getting yourself to some biker meets, you will always find a few people there who belong to clubs. try rivington barn near bolton or devils bridge in kirkby lonsdale, on a sunny day they will both be packed

If you know which bike your buying (600 Hornet for example) try searching for that bikes owners club. Each club usually has online forums and get togethers.

Each bike I've owned in the past usually has a large and freindly crowd associated with it.

Just get yourself down to the local rider training center and book an assessment (usually around £20) then go from there. You will always find a friendly informative bunch of bikers there.

Dare I suggest looking for an IAM/RoSPA group?

Or is that swearing?
