If the rules haven't changed, you need number plate light (which you can take from tail light), brake lights for front and rear (universal switches are a couple of quid each) and horn (can be a squeezy manual one if easilly accessible and loud).

Indicators are not required if not fitted as standard (as far as I remember).

Speedo and odometer needed but don't need to work, or should I say, I've never had them tested on hundreds of bikes I've put through an MOT over the years.

It'd be worth a quick call to a bike test station (that you're not going to) for clarification on the above wink

Only need indicators if you have passenger foot pegs and a bike can be insured without anything except a horn on a daylight MOT. I think you can get a horn from halfords that is meant to be good enough.

A red rear reflector is probably required. A bike speedo with a built in odo will probably be sufficient and easy to fit.

Don't think you need a no plate light if it's daytime only MOT? so you only 'need' a horn & speedo but not sure about the odometer or brakelight?

But as you say speedo/odo never actually tested and a £5 battery powered bicycle jobby would do.

Make sure the tyres are not marked 'offroad use only'............ wink
