OK, my tyres need replacing again, using the Gixxer for work everyday and have now been through a set of OEM Bridgestones and a set of Diablos. Both have been good but I wouldn't mind something slightly harder/longer wearing.
I accept that I will potentially lose a little ultimate grip.

What's people opinions on the dual compound Michelins etc?

You can now get your tyres from Mytyres.co.uk
I've just bought a Bridgestone BT021 (the new replacement for the BT020) and so far I'm very happy with it. This is a sport touring tyre, so probably doesn't help you.
The tyre cost £93.30 + £16 for fitting = £109.30. That's at least £50 cheaper than the quotes I was getting from garages!!

size?

ive just had 021s fitted to my gsx 120/70/17 & 190/50/17 for £110 & £130 respectivley from my local bike shop.
i rate them as they ride well (to me with my lack of experience) plus seem to last. i did 3k on the old ones (sold with the bike) carrying a load of camping gear etc touring scotland & used about 1/4 of the rear max.

mutter mutter. New bloody tyres..

Having just scrubbed in the shiny polished rear on the bike, it goes in for its 4K service, and lo and behold, has come back with a brand shiny new front tyre frown Ho hum, another 100 miles of pootling in the current brilliant conditions. Meh...

interesting to know, if i remember once i wear these out i'll ask the shop if they can match them. i get decent deals there normally as is a new place & i used him from day one - well the other local shop is so crap i avoid it even if the new place cant get what i want.
