Hi Guys,

I took my test yesterday and failed due to causing another car to slow down as I took off frown
I did a DAS through LMRT in Catford, who were really great but I’m looking at £130 to do a retake which is a bit out of my price range now. My problem is that I can book my retest myself and use my own inherited GS500 to do the test but how the hell am I supposed to get the bike there? If I ride it and pull into the test centre I don’t think they will be impressed!
Will I arouse suspicion if I ride there, park up around the corner and then roll it into the centre?
£60 for my bike vs. £130 for a retest using the riding school!
The other thing is does anyone know any insurers that will insures riders for short periods of time? I only need insurance as a learner on it for the day of the test!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks

Can't you get a mate who has passed to take you there on the back of your bike, then wait for you while you have the test?

As for insurance, take out the policy you would if you passed, but explain that for the first day you be using it for the test.

I don't actually know any other bikers! The only person I can ask is my cousin who works long hours, so fitting it to his schedule is not going to happen...

Well wrap up the insurance problem first, otherwise it's a non-starter anyway.

Then either stick the bike in the back of a van/pick/milk-float/lorry to get it there, or hire/borrow a trailer and Bob is your Mother's Brother smile

Thanks for that! I'm going to look into the insuracne thing now.
I think i'm going to try and see if i can get a saturday test and then tell my cosuin that i'll owe him a kidney or a lung if he ever needs one in the future... biggrin
Got a long wait for another test though... frown I can't take the lifeless, smelly, slow pace of london transport anymore!
