Did something I thought I'd never do yesterday....

....I bought a pair of handlebar muffs hehe

It's no good, I'm old enough these days to value function over fashion. I don't car that I'll now look like a courier, once my heated grips are on at the weekend and the muffs are over them - my fingers will be warm once more, which frankly, is all I care about biggrin

I have tried EVERY combination of gloves/hand guards/liners known to mankind and none work when it gets really cold. The frost earlier this week (and it was mild) was enough to convince me.

Right, I'm off to make some leg guards from an old cardboard box and a mile of gaffer tape hehe

Everyone else will now assume you're a courier and give you a wide birth.. so try your best to ride like one too to keep the act going! wink lol
Seriously when I only had a bike for transport I thought about getting some, I now have a nice warm car for those out of London winter trips.

Lol. Buying them is one thing, fitting them and riding around so people can see you is quite another. I have a brand new pair sitting in my shed where I put them 3 years ago when I bought them wink

My Dad used to these things (back in the 40's & 50's) along with plastic bags over the socks/gloves but nowadays we have better gear (or a car for when it's really cold/wet) rolleyes
