Picked up a new Tuono a few weeks ago, it's fitted with D208 Dunlops, I've never used them before (my last 3 bikes were on BT014 or corsas).
Still running it in so not really tested the tyres yet, anybody got any experiance?

IMHO D208's are a reaonable balance between grip and longevity.

They are not "pure sports" tyres and if you intend to get your elbow down look elsewhere. For day-to-day (?) riding, and especially in the run up to winter they are not too bad as they do grip a bit more than some full on sports tyres. Very pressure sensitive in my experience: check regularly,

I've never got on with Dunlops. My '03 Tuono had 207RR's as standard, and I got shot of them after 400 miles. Even with the slipper clutch you could feel them stepping out all over the place. A set of Diablos made the bike feel completely different. I had some 208's on a K1200R, and they were exactly the same. I can recommend BT014's or the Pirelli's.
Having said that, my B'King has some Dunlop Qualifiers on, and I've only had one moment with those (though that was after only 20 miles, so probably down to the newness/release agent). Other than that, they seem to cope.

The Tuono though; second best bike I ever had. 3 years, and never once got bored of it. Just found that it turns you into a maniac every time you fire it up.

Thanks Guys, are the Dunlop qualifiers dual compound? They were doing them for £160 a set at CSS, so might hold out till my next visit and give them a try.

Hi, the D208 (road) and D208RR (track day) have been phased out.

The Dunlop range is now:

Roadsmart - Touring
Qualifier - Road Superbike/occ track day
Qualifier RR - Track Day
GP Racer - Extreme track day - still road legal

I have a set of 208RR's on my Triumph. Have done a couple of trackdays on them as well as a few thousand miles on the road. I found them better than the Bridgestones that were previously on.

Having said that, I recently put Corsa 3's on the R1 and they are head and shoulders above anything else I have used.
