Hi all. Now that the dark and cold ones are upon us I am thinking about next year and what new tyre to get for the rear of the ZRX11. I only use the bike for fun with no commuting so not that fussed about the amount of miles it will last. I could do with your thoughts and experiences on the stickiest tarmac grabbing road legal tyre known to man (and biker chics too)(As long as it doesn't fade when ragging it round the bends on a hot road) smokin

Cheers.

Mak.

The super Corsa's cone in a sticky version, but for the life on me can't remebm,er what its called. There are three types offering different degrees of grip vs longevity (sp?!) The guy was showing me usibng a key (I know, I know) but anyway, the tyre was so soft, he was able to pucj his key right into it and leave an impression. Granted, you'd only get about 4 miles out of it but it should hold up well round the bends!

Hi, I've been using metzler K1's on my zx10.they've done one race,300miles at the ring and a 3000mile trip to southern italy via the alps.Admittedly the back is proper f?*ked and i am not sure that they are completly legal when new,but i swear by them.I have tried just about all the other manufactures sticky tyres michelin, pirelli, dunlop, bridgestone but these are the best so far.

Cheers for that...... they sound like the propper jobby for me.
PS if I loose it doing 3 G's on Metzler K1's can I sue you? getmecoat
PPS my lady has an 06 ZX10-R. Had a blat on it when she picked it up last Friday. It makes the ZRX11 feel like riding a Rally Chopper when you turn the front wheel fast and you keep going in a straight line! What a bad ass bike that is. Respec......bow

Am running Pirelli Dragon SuperCorsa Pros on the new bike, and they are incredibly sticky. Takes a while to get them warm though, seemingly slightly longer than the Corsa 3's I had on the Blade.
Judging by the fact the tread pattern is barely legal on a brand new one, I suspect they wont last too long wink

They don't - well they didn't on my blade.

cloud9

Apart from the battery, which I am changing tonight. In the dark. And the rain. And having to take the tank off to do so.
But its soooo worth it

Thanks all. I will grow my thumb nail so I can go and test the rubber on the Perelli and Metzler. All we need now is a hot day and dry roads. Dream on huh!
