I bought it from a friend rather cheaply wink, I haven't ridden it this weekend but did in France last year for about 2 hours and it was great.

I'm going to put carbon fibre hugger, mud guard, heel plates, exhaust shield and ram air tubes on it when funds allow.

Hope you like it thumbup

Nick, it will only come out to play when there is no salt or crap on the road, I spent 3 hours yesterday cleaning and polishing it & optimate hooked up. I still have my R1 so that's the winter and work machine for now.

I want to get the suspension set up for my weight so I'm taking it to Harris Performance as they are the Ohlins importer and their guys know how to set it up.

I wasn't looking for a 999 but at the price it was offered it was a no brainer.

Andy.

Wow, what a bike, smile I have to say you are in the dream position, 999 for fun AND a R1 for work. Can't lose really.

My R1 is a 2005 model and it's covered 40,000 miles in 2 1/2 years and is worth probably £3K due to the mileage but it's still an exeptional bike and I'm keeping it until it falls apart.wink

Matt, I tried my best to make it sparkle, but I think you may need to give it the magic touch to really make it shine wink

smile Impressive, 40k in 2 1/2 years makes my 2500 in 4 months look a bit paltry. smile

What year is it?

I notice it has the red frame - as the 'R' models have. Did that become standard?

It's a June 2005 bike. For 2005 on the S's had a red frame, black swing arm & black Marchesini's.

Cheers chaps, although I think it will look even better when the few bits of carbon fibre I'm about to order are fitted and I'm also putting a white number board on the front to match the white on the rear wink
