I am planning on going to Portugal in April to watch the Moto GP but wondering if anyone has been and can give me some advice on the layout of the place..... what stand would I be best buying tickets for, or would general admission be fine? Also, what websites are recommneded for buying the tickets?

Any information is appreciated.

The Estoril race is in September, The Jerez race is towards the end of March and is not to far from Southern Portugal

For Jerez tickets, this might be of some use - http://www.boardzero.com/motogpnews/motogpnews-abo...

Hi, we stayed in Cascais this year and had a great time.
The Eurosport commentary team were in our hotel and were really friendly.
The circuit is about 15 mins drive from Cascais. Parking is not too bad you can use neaby streets and walk in.
We bought our tickets in advance but there were plenty on sale for the grandstands on the Friday.
I would try and avoid the public viewing, it looked pretty crowded.
We flew into Faro and hired a car for the week ( about £90 I think ) It's about a 3 hour drive from the Algarve.
If you Google Earth the circuit you can see how close it is to the coast.
I've been to lots of GP's abroad and this one is really worth going to.

Cheers Wassy.

Which stand would you recommend? My thinking is the two stands on the start/finish may be a bit boring compared to one on a corner... what do you think?

We were in D this year which was OK but the bridge does hide your view a bit.
Last year we were in H which I thought was better because you can see the infield as well.
I think H was sold out this year so you may be better off buying those tickets in advance.

We got our tickets from this company.
I think it cost about 10 euros each ticket extra to get them in advance.

I was in Stand 'E' for 2007. Had a great time, with a view I was happy with. I travelled from the Algarve (near Faro) and it took approx 2.5hours, by car, from door to being sat in the stand. Tickets were 34euro if I recall correctly. The atmosphere was great, horns, people shouting and having fun. Donington (my local home track) MotoGP tends to be people sat eating donuts, imo.

Here's the view smile
