The M40 was closed London bound this morning for some reason. I've just got into work an hour late because of it mad
Anyway...everyone was being taken off at J2 and most people were getting onto the A40 to continued their journey. As you can imagine it was pretty much grid-lock.

A group of three bikers were filtering through the traffic, and all was well until they came to a traffic island in the middle of the road.
The road here is narrow and the bikers couldn't get passed. So instead of waiting patiently to get through, they decided to start sounding their horns, revving the hell out of their engines and hand gesturing the drivers. The lead biker moron decided to have an argument with one of the drivers which held everyone up even more.
There was absolutely no reason at all for this group to start having a go at the drivers. They weren't deliberately blocking the road - the road was just too narrow to get passed.

I couldn't believe what I saw. No wonder bikers have such a bad name rolleyes
If I'd been one of those people in their car I would have opened my door and knocked you off you wcensoreders
I really hope one of them reads this!

Understand, but sure the car was not right in the middle of the road trying to prevent the guys on their bikes getting through?

Can be the case sometimes......

Me too. Idiots like this ensure bikers retain their bad name.

I am a very aggressive rider ensuring any car driver is left in no doubt where I want to be on the road and where I'm going, but I never expect cars to move from their normal route for me and I certainly wouldn't abuse a car driver just because I have to sit in traffic with everyone else.

If someone deliberately moves over in traffic to block me though, that's a different matter and it will be met with equal malice.

Nope, the traffic was completely stationary with nowhere to go when the bikers approached the island. The drivers were entirely innocent.
The reason I saw all this is because I was following them on my bike.
Yes you morons, I was the one on the Divvy shaking my head in disbelief. I almost felt like stopping and apologising to the poor driver the lead biker had a go at!

Arrogant bikers hack me off as much as arrogant car drivers. Any road user that thinks they can bully their way through traffic need a slap the back of their legs and have their dummy removed before bed time.

An interesting point here though is that your standard car test does not teach new drivers biker (or truck for that matter) awareness. I'm sure the majority of bike riders on here are car drivers too and with that show all modes of transport respect (unless they are a prat then it's fare game!wink)

No I didn't. He was another arrogant biker who thought he could push his way through and blame car/van drivers for his piss poor riding abilities/fatness.
Please re-read that thread...

Apology accepted in advance.

Surely the point here is that these guys were acting like prats. Lots of riders do, lots of drivers do. Don't label them as 'bikers' or 'car drivers' just people acting like idiots. One of my pet hates is when you ease over to let an oncoming car through in a narrow street and don't even get a reaction let alone a nod of thanks. Similarly if I'm held up in a queue in my car and I see a bike behind I'll try to make space for him to get past - sometimes (not often) there's no 'thankyou'. Just means that in both cases they're ignorant people not ignorant bikers or car drivers.

I see bikers pretty much every day who do a bad job at PR for the rest of us. I'd expect it from certain car/van drivers here in London but when you've got a bike or scooter rider who doesn't even show respect for a fellow riders let alone any other vehicle I've got no time of day for them at all. Supringly enough only a small % of the bad PR riders are couriers!

whistle that could be me scratchchin

Although I always let other bikers know I'm behind and give them ample chance to move over, if they don't after they've seen me, I then show them very little respect and the back of my top box getmecoat
