Bought a monthly travel card, so the bike is taking a holiday.

Not due to the weather, but too many booze filled nights etc, between now and the New Year. Plod are now beginning to up their game on the run to Christmas and whilst I do not DD it would be sods law to get pulled in the morning and fail.

So Public torture for me.

makes total sense. Also remember that there will be many more car drivers on the roads that are over the limit and a big risk to you on a bike. It's not worth it with that risk and the shitty weather. Like you say, you can have a few pints now and not worry about it now and look forward to the new year, spring in particular
