I know I'm a dumbass newbie, but the bike shop had a gorgeous Triumph Daytona on the forecourt which put my concentration off cos i wanted to go have another look before g/f made me go shopping and after asking the assistants advice on anti-corrosion sprays i bought a tin recommended by him-only after reading threads on here did i realise i should put some on the Fazer. Tin says Silkolene - Silkopen - Graphite Penetrating Spray. I didn't look at tin - just took assistants advice and walked back to forecourt to drool before getting escorted back to car by her indoors. Today got tin from boot after cleaning bike, but it doesnt sound like an anti-corrosion spray, says " Eases the dismantling of seized threaded fastners ". Assistant at bike shop told me the guys in garage use this and I'd recommend it - just spray it all over the engine. Do you guys think I did get the wrong stuff ??

Sorry I am indeed a dumbass who doesn't check the tin before he buys..but the Daytona put me off.

Barry.

Sounds like a WD-40 type spray. I use WD myself on the Trials bike. I think you were looking for FS365 Protector spray by Scottoiler or the similar Pro Care by Proclean. Both displace water and prevent rust. I'd say the WD-40 type spray should do a similar job but be a bit more expensive.

Sounds more like a Plus Gas equivalent: http://www.lawson-his.co.uk/scripts/details.php?ca...

Not the best for anti-corrosion use.

What you want is ACF 50 (if its good enough for aircraft, its probably OK for a bike): http://www.acf-50.co.uk/motorcycle.htm
